Hello Prof. Frenchtastic! I’m English, and am trying to learn French, but I certainly cant do the accent, I was wondering if its vital in the pronunciation of French and whether French speakers would know what I was saying if I said something with an English accent. You speak English with a French accent, but Ive always been taught that I have to sound French… is this true? Thanks.

It’s the same thing for French-speakers, to whom it’s easy to learn Spanish than English!

People want to learn basic. You cannot learn a language when the lessons are only given in that language if you do not have a basic knowledge of that language. For exemple, when I started learning English, I first began by asking people around how we say this or that word in English. That’s how I learned basic words. When I knew it, I was able to have English lessons only given in English because I was able to understand a little bit. With time, I became better.
It’s easy for spanish people to learn french… It is latin based….. Similar to people who know cantonese and wish to speak mandarin..

The lessons should be totaly in French. I do not understand why it is given in English.
