A Day in Corsica, France

A well rounded vacation is what the Island of Corsica has to offer. Fishing, sailing, biking, hiking, and some of the finest diving in Europe are just a few of the many activities found there. Located about 100 miles south of the main land, Corsica is an example of the most nature-filled places to see in France. A multitude of hotels, bed & breakfasts, and campgrounds hold the island’s many guests. Interestingly enough, camping provides for the best intake of the island’s beauty. Nature in her purest form is obvious when lying under a star filled sky in the heart of the Mediterranean.

Century old churches, museums stuffed with the island’s best art, castles, ruinsthese historical banquets for the eye are in full swing in Corsica. If you are thinking Corsica is an island full of wonderful beaches, you are right. However, this isn’t the only kind of nature you may find in Corsica. Together with days spent sun-bathing on the coast, there is also opportunity for exploring the island’s forest and mountain lands. You can also catch the island’s train for a slow paced afternoon seeing sights you could not get to on your own. As you travel through one of the most quaint places to see in France, do not be surprised to see a great influence of Italian culture too.

You can actually wander through the streets of the island’s capital and see the crafters themselves, making their original pieces right before your eyes. Corsica holds over 50 festivals a year including a Guitar Holiday in Patrimonio. These music playing artists come in from all over the earth to take a role in this once a year celebration of music. The final toga party occurs in Aleria, to honor of the village’s history and roots. Fishing holidays, carnivals held in the forests, horse fairs, and holidays aimed at the younger generation occur nearly weekly in Corsica.

The crystal clear water is deep blue, generally calm and completely inviting. Tourists come from around all of Europe and the rest of the earth wanting to partake in Corsica’s world-class diving experience. Whether you go snorkeling or scuba diving, you will be in for quite a treat. When you have Corsica nearby, who requires the Caribbean? The water is typically warm which makes any water activities a pleasure. Set up with dozens of diving centers, you will have your selection of waters to soak yourself into. Corsica works hard at keeping its sea life saved and well inclined. At the end, this monumental isle is unquestionably one of the most pretty places to see in France. Forget the rest of Europe and book a pair weeks on this island full of nature and celebration.

Writing about travel is a fun hobbie of mine. It gives me excuses to take off on a random vacation to seek inspiration.
